Four-time former champions India will face Australia in the semi-finals on February 2 to secure a position in the finals. The Indian team defeated defending champions Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the quarterfinals of the ICC under 19 one-day World Cup to make it to the semi-finals. Now India will face the Australian team for a place in the finals. In the match played on Saturday, 29th January team India won the toss and decided to bowl first and bundled out Bangladesh for 111 runs in 37.1 overs. In reply, India scored 117 runs on a loss of 5 wickets in 30.5 overs and won the match.
Ravi and Vicky shined, Angkrish took over the opening
India’s left-arm medium-pacer Ravi Kumar wreaked havoc on Bangladesh’s top order with his pace and swing bowling. He took the first 3 wickets. On the other hand, spinner Vicky Ostwal also bowled well and took 2 wickets. Rajvardhan, Kaushal, and Angkrish took one wicket each. Chasing the target, opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 44 runs for India. However, the team started poorly, Harnoor Singh got dismissed without opening the account.
Quarterfinal match: Australia vs Pakistan
Earlier In the quarterfinals match played on Friday 28th January, the Australian team defeated Pakistan in the ICC under-19 ODI world cup and reached the final 4 . Australia beat Pakistan by 119 runs to enter the semi-finals of the ICC Under 19 World Cup. Batting first, Australia scored 276 runs for 7 wickets in the quarterfinals played on Friday night. After this, the Australian bowlers bundled out the Pakistani team for just 157 runs in 35.1 overs.
Teague Wyllie’s fifty
The opening batsman of the Australian team, Teague Wyllie, performed brilliantly, scoring a half-century and a total of 71 runs. Man of the match, Wyllie hit 8 fours while playing 97 balls. He shared an 86-run partnership with Campbell Kelway for the first wicket.
