Rajasthan Royals beat RCB By seven wickets and with this Royal Challengers Bangalore’s dream was broken again. Rajasthan Royals reached the IPL finals after 14 years with the strong performance of Jos Buttler. In 2008, the winner of the inaugural season, Rajasthan Royals now will play the title match for the second time. Former champions Rajasthan Royals have entered the final of the Indian Premier League after a long wait of 14 years. The Rajasthan Royals team became champions in the inaugural season of IPL in 2008 under the leadership of the late Shane Warne.
In the second qualifier match played here on Friday, Rajasthan once again broke the dream of winning the title by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets with 11 balls to spare. The Bengaluru team is out of the playoff for the third time in a row. Batting first on the invitation of Rajasthan, RCB scored 157 runs in 20 overs with Rajat Patidar’s 58 runs. Medium-pacer Obed McCoy and Prasidh Krishna took three wickets each for the Royals. In reply, Rajasthan scored 161 runs for three wickets in 18.1 overs and won the match by seven wickets.
Mohammad Siraj was targeted
Chasing an average target, the Rajasthan team’s openers took a good start. Yashasvi Jaiswal targeted Royal’s pacer Mohammad Siraj. He hit two sixes and a four in his very first over. In his next over, Buttler smashed the ball for two boundaries and a six. With these attacks, Siraj conceded 31 runs in just two overs. After that Shahbaz Ahmed gave 19 runs in the fifth over. The effect of this was that Rajasthan added 67 runs in the powerplay overs itself.
Jos Buttler’s Fourth Ton Of The Season
Buttler, batting without any pressure, scored his fourth century this season. With this, he also crossed the 800-run mark in the 2022 season. Buttler scored an unbeaten 106 off 60 balls with ten fours and six sixes.
Equals Virat: Along with this, Jos Buttler also equaled Virat Kohli’s record in terms of scoring the most centuries in a season. Virat had scored four centuries in the 2016 IPL, this is Buttler’s total fifth century in the IPL. Chris Gayle is on top with six sixes.
Buttler became the number two batsman to score more than 800 runs in a season of IPL. Virat is at the top with 973 runs scored in 2016. Buttler has hit 44 sixes so far this season.
Title clash on Sunday: Rajasthan Royals will face Gujarat Titans in the finals
The thrill of the IPL 15 title match to be held at Narendra Modi Stadium here on Sunday is at its peak. Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans will face each other once again after Qualifier One. The top two teams of the league will push to become the IPL champions. Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat had booked the final ticket after defeating the Royals in the first qualifier. The same Royals made no mistake on the second occasion and made it to the finals.
