4th T20 of the ongoing South African tour of India will be played today. Team India has not lost any T20 series on home ground since 2019. Rishabh Pant, who is struggling with poor form, will have to play a good inning in the fourth T20 match against South Africa on Friday to avoid pressure in the middle overs. Team India is currently trailing 1-2 in the five-match series. However, apart from skipper Rishabh Pant’s poor form, India overcame their mistakes in the second T20 at Visakhapatnam to register a big win. Now they need one more win to stay in this five-match series so that the winner will be decided in the fifth match.
Significantly, the Indian team has not lost any T20 series at home since 2019. The last time he had to face a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Australia here. After which Team India drew the two-match T20 series 1-1 from South Africa. After which the team has captured seven T20 series on its soil. But now the team is in danger of losing the series.
The middle-order will have to show strength
Indian team’s openers Ishan Kishan and Rituraj Gaikwad had a great start in the last match but the middle order remains a matter of concern for Team India. Number three batsman Shreyas Iyer is not looking in form. The short ball remains the first for them. At the same time, Captain Pant will also have to play carefully in the middle order. Hardik Pandya has impressed with his performance so far.
Toss will be important: Captain Rishabh Pant could not win the toss in the first three matches and visiting captain Temba Bawuma has chosen to field first every time. In such a situation, the role of toss will be important in this match as well.
Indian bowlers back in rhythm
In the last match, spinners like Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel did well in the middle overs. Axar Patel was an economical bowler, and Chahal managed to take wickets. Among the fast bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is bowling consistently well. Avesh Khan was economical but could not take wickets. And Harshal Patel took 4 wickets on the strength of his diversity.
Quinton De Kock’s returned To Team
The South African camp will be praying for star batsman Quinton de Kock to make a full recovery from a wrist injury. After winning this match, the South African team will look to take an unassailable lead in the series. In the third match, South African spinners Tabrez Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj proved to be very expensive. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada did well but could not get support from the other end and the fielding was also poor.
