LSG vs KKR: Lucknow Supergiants beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 2-runs to knock them out of the tournament. With Quinton de Kock-Rahul’s record partnership, Lucknow dismissed KKR. Lucknow Supergiants defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 2-runs in a thrilling match that lasted till the last ball on Wednesday. With this victory, Lucknow’s team secured a place in the playoffs while the journey of KKR’s team came to an end. Kolkata has just 12 points from six wins in 14 matches.

Lucknow won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 210 runs without losing any wicket. In reply, Kolkata’s team could only score 208 runs for eight wickets.

Lucknow opener Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul shared an unbeaten 210-run partnership for the first wicket. It is the biggest partnership in IPL history, not only this, it has happened for the first time in IPL that no team has lost any wicket while batting first.

Hero of victory: De Kock played the best innings

The hero of Lucknow’s victory was opener Quinton de Kock, who played an unbeaten inning of 140 runs in 70 balls. He hit 10-fours and 10-sixes. He scored the second century of his IPL career. Earlier in 2016, he had scored 108 runs, while Lokesh Rahul, who stood at the other end, scored an unbeaten 68 off 51 balls. He hit 3-fours and 4-sixes during his innings.

Umran breaks record of Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah

Umran become youngest Indian to take 20 wickets in IPL season. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s young fast bowler Umran Malik became the youngest Indian bowler to take 20 or more wickets in this season of IPL. Umran bowled brilliantly in the match played against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday and took three wickets for 23 runs in 3 overs.

Left behind Jasprit: Umran broke the record of Jasprit Bumrah of Mumbai. He took 21 wickets in his name at the age of 22 years and 173 days. The same Bumrah took more than 20 wickets in 2017 at the age of 23 years and 165 days. At number three is a former pacer, RP Singh, with 23 years 166 days.

New plan: BCCI will select two different teams, and the coaching staff of both the teams will also be different

Laxman will be the coach of Team India against South Africa. Dravid will go on a tour of England. Former batsman VVS Laxman is going to become the coach of the Indian T20 cricket team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is planning to form separate teams for the T20 and England tours to be played against South Africa and Ireland. Laxman will be made the coach of the team for the T20 series against South Africa and Ireland. On the other hand, Rahul Dravid will accompany the main Indian team on the England tour.

The board will soon consult with Laxman: BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and national selector VVS Laxman will soon be in talks to become the coach of the Indian team. According to sources, the board will soon talk to Laxman about its plan. The board is very sure that Laxman will fulfill this responsibility well and under his guidance, the young Indian team and players will perform well.
