After the 2-day mega auction of IPL-2022, it is in the discussion of which team is looking best on paper and which team is lacking. Although most of the discussion is happening on the buying and selling of bowlers. 7 out of 11 players who crossed the 10 crore mark in this auction are bowling specialists. According to the experts, the bowling attack of DC, MI, and Rajasthan Royals has become stronger than before. All three teams have rained heavily on bowlers in the mega auction.
7 bowlers crossed the 10Crore mark
Delhi Capitals: Delhi had retained pacer Anrich Nortje but bought 8 bowlers and 4 all-rounders in the auction. Fast bowlers include Shardul Thakur, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Mustafizur Rahman, Lungi Nagdi, Khaleel Ahmed, Chetan Sakaria, and Mitchell Marsh. While spinners have Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Vicky Ostwal, and Lalit Yadav. Khaleel and Sakariya prove to be the trump cards for Delhi. It is expected that the team will not miss the absence of Rabada and Ashwin.
Rajasthan Royals: Under the guidance of Kumar Sangakkara, Rajasthan Royals have played bets on economical players. There is a good balance of fast bowlers and spin bowlers in the team. Fast bowlers have Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Navdeep Saini, Obed McCoy, Jimmy Neesham, and Nathan Coulter-Nile while in spinners they have experienced players like Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin. Young players Riyan Parag and KC Cariappa will also be present in the team to support them.
Mumbai Indians: Mumbai has Jasprit Bumrah, apart from him, Jofra Archer has also been bought for 8 crores and Tim David for 8.25 crores. Jofra Archer will not be playing this season but still, Mumbai’s bowling attack is very strong. Mumbai has Jaydev Unadkat, Riley Meredith, Daniel Sams, Basil Thampi, and Tymal Mills as fast bowlers. Whereas as the spinners Mumbai has Murugan Ashwin, Mayank Markande, Fabian Allen, and Tim David. Pollard is also available as a bowling option.
These mistakes can be heavy on the teams
Mumbai Indians: Quinton de Kock and Power Heater Pandey Brothers will be missed in the top order. Apart from Ishan Kishan in wicketkeeping, junior Aryan Juyal is a substitute Indian spinner who will also be missed.
Delhi Capitals: Anrich Nortje is battling a hip injury, so can’t depend on him much.
Punjab Kings: Did not trust any Indian batsman in the middle order.
Kolkata Knight Riders: Will Ajinkya Rahane be able to give an aggressive start is the biggest question. It will be difficult to fit the second opening option Alex Hales in the playing XI
Rajasthan Royals: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal both the players are inexperienced.
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Top-order will be weak if Kane Williamson is not available to play.
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Maxwell with Dinesh Karthik will have to come forward and take over the responsibility as difficult thing will be to decide the middle order.
Gujarat Lions: If Captain Hardik Pandya is unable to bowl, then the team does not have the option of the fifth bowler.
