Team India became number 1 in the T20 rankings by eliminating West Indies. Brilliant innings from Suryakumar Yadav (65) followed by the great bowling of Harshal Patel (3 for 22) helped India beat West Indies by 17 runs in the third final T20I on Sunday. Along with this, Team India also took a 3-0 clean sweep in the three-match T20 series. In response to India’s 184 for 5, the West Indies team could only score 167 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Nicholas Pooran, who scored the highest 61 runs for West Indies, went into vain. Indian team equaled Pakistan’s record by registering a ninth consecutive win in T20 cricket. With this victory, Team India has reached the top of the ICC T20 rankings.

Suryakumar Yadav’s best innings

After losing the toss, the Indian team was called to bat first. At a time India had lost four wickets for 93 runs. But then Suryakumar Yadav played the best innings of his international T20 career and took the team to a challenging score. Surya played 31 balls and  Scored 65 runs with one four and 7 sixes. He hit a quick half-century in just 27 balls. Venkatesh Iyer scored an unbeaten 35 runs. Surya Kumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer both played well adding 91 runs for the fifth wicket. Surya Kumar Yadav was selected player of the match and series.

Rohit’s big achievement

Rohit became the first Indian captain to clean sweep in 4 bilateral series. Under the captaincy of Rohit, the Indian team has made a 3-0 clean sweep 3 times in a row. In the 3-0 clean sweep, India won the T20I series against New Zealand. ODI series and T20I against West Indies.

Avesh Khan became the 96th player of Team India

In this match, the Indian team came with four changes. Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant along with bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Yuzvendra Chahal were rested. The team management included Rituraj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, and Avesh Khan in the playing XI.

Fast bowler Avesh’s wait is over and he started his international career. Sunday was a special day for him. Avesh became the 96th player to play for India in T20 International cricket. Before the match, experienced fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar handed over the cap of Team India to Avesh. Avesh Khan had landed in the place of Bhuvneshwar Kumar in this match.

Wriddhiman was furious after being dropped

Wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha, who could not make it to the Indian team for the Test series against Sri Lanka, is very upset. He has lashed out at the Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid, and chief selector Chetan Sharma. Saha said in an interview that coach Dravid had advised him to retire during the South Africa tour.

Ganguly made a false promise

Saha said that he had also spoken to the board president Ganguly. He had promised him that as long as he is in the BCCI, he does not need to think much. But he did not keep his promise and it all happened to him.
