IPL 15: Delhi capitals defeated Mumbai Indians when the fiery innings of Akshar Patel and Lalit Yadav overshadowed Mumbai. In the last five overs of the nail-biting match, Delhi Capitals beat former five-time champions Mumbai Indians by four wickets. Delhi Capitals started the tournament with a thrilling win in IPL 15 with the help of Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav. It is Delhi’s third consecutive win over Mumbai. In the 2021 season, Delhi had defeated Mumbai in 2 matches.

In the match played on Sunday, Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mumbai scored 177 for 5 with Ishan Kishan’s unbeaten half-century. In reply, Delhi’s team won by scoring 179 runs for six wickets in 18.2 overs.

Turning point: The pair turned the match

Chasing the target, Delhi had lost six wickets for just 104 runs. It was clear that this match was gone. But the pair of Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav snatched the victory from Mumbai’s hands by sharing an unbeaten 75 runs in 30 balls for the seventh wicket. Akshar Patel scored 38 runs in 17 balls with two fours and three sixes. Lalit Yadav played a not-out inning of 48 runs. He hit four fours and two sixes.

Hero of victory: Kuldeep Yadav showed amazing performance

The hero of Delhi’s victory was China Man spinner Kuldeep Yadav. He took three wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs. He was adjudged man of the match. Kuldeep played for Kolkata Knight Riders last season. Apart from him, fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed took two wickets.

Ishaan’s half-century was washed away

Opener Ishan Kishan scored a half-century for Mumbai Indians. He played a brilliant inning of 81 runs in 48 balls. Ishaan hit 11 fours and 2 sixes during his innings. With this, Ishaan scored his tenth fifty in his IPL career.

Mumbai Indian captain Rohit Sharma said the performance of the bowlers was not up to the expectations. Rohit Sharma was very disappointed with the shocking defeat against Delhi Capitals. He said on Saturday after the match that the batsmen did well but the bowlers could not live up to the expectations. Rohit said that I thought we had scored a good score, but our bowlers could not bowl as planned. We have to work hard on this as with such good scores on board, we can not let go of the match.

Punjab Kings Chased Down The Target Of 206 Runs

Punjab Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets in the IPL 15 match played in Punjab on Sunday. Batting first, RCB put a very good score on the board, 205 for two wickets. But Punjab won by scoring 208 runs for five wickets in 19 overs.

Oden Smith shines

In the last over for Punjab, Oden Smith scored an unbeaten 25 runs in 8 balls. During this, Auden hit one four and three sixes. He shared a fiery 52-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Shah Rukh Khan (24 not out) in 4.1 overs. Chasing the target, Punjab captain Mayank Agarwal (32) and Shikhar Dhawan (43) gave a good start.

Faf’s half-century

Earlier, captain Faf du Plessis scored 88 runs for RCB. He hit three fours and seven sixes. Virat also shared a partnership of 118 runs with Faf for the second wicket. Virat scored an unbeaten 41 runs in 29 balls. He hit one four and two sixes.
